Bryan is a nonprofit health system that cares for patients and motivates the community through health and fitness programs. It features an award-winning team of doctors and is known for its innovative treatments and technology.
The volunteers play a vital role at Bryan Health. They work in more than 100 areas throughout the system. Duties vary and may include answering phones, making pillows, and offering freshly baked cookies to guests.
Established in 1902, the Capital Humane Society originally focused on the prevention of cruelty to children and horses. Today, it serves the community by sheltering unwanted pets until they find loving homes. The society also acts as an advocate for animal welfare and educates the public about responsible dog and cat care.
The volunteers are dedicated to helping the animals at least once a week. After an orientation, duties may include cleaning cages, assisting at special events, and helping with animal enrichment activities.
Since 1982, the Food Bank of Lincoln has strived to end hunger in southeast Nebraska. From sun up to sun down, it works to put fresh, nutritious meals on the tables of those in need. The Food Bank serves sixteen communities and is a proud partner of Feeding America.
